Welcome to the SAFETY ADVISORY for FIRE & FX in ENTERTAINMENT or SAFFE website. We hope you find us helpful in providing information and guidance for safe motion picture, television and entertainment production in your community. SAFFE was formally established in 1996 as a non-profit organization for open dialogue, training, presentations and demonstrations regarding Fire/Life Safety in the entertainment industry. Besides resolving old business and new business issues and concerns, we conduct roundtable discussions for topics related to, experienced by or affecting the forum. Topics of training and demonstrations have included; pyrotechnics and explosions, open flame devices, fire resistive paint, fire performers, lighting equipment, generators, non-guns, electronic and manual detonators, etc. Our Meetings are held quarterly at various locations in the Los Angeles area and open to anyone who will actively participate in our common objectives. Please fill free to contact us about any suggestions, questions or concerns. If you would like to attend a meeting and/or join SAFFE, please contact Rich Momii, rgmomii@yahoo.com.
Finally, one of our website goals will be to develop a internet forum for members to share information and have a timely exchange of ideas regarding entertainment Fire/Life safety. We will also be providing templates or examples of permit applications and safety checklists in the near future. Look for future postings of our meeting agendas and past minutes. We will be continually adding to our LINKS page to provide you with additional resources that can further assist you.
